The other car had several people in it, all students. One of them was ejected through the windshield and killed. Others were trapped inside.
Hundreds of students watched from schools all around the Morrilton area.
Lindsey Jennings, a 12th-grader says, "It was scary. One of my best friends was thrown through the windshield. It was hard to see her like that."
12th-grader Ashley Forwe says, "It was real. It was augh, I don't know; blood and yuk!"
For the greatest impact possible those who staged the crash even used make-up and fake blood to look like real injuries. You could see a bloody hand print on the inside of the driver's side window. They've even placed fake skin and skin cells on the hood of the car; anything to make it seem more real to really send a message to the students watching.
The first responders wanted the drill to be as realistic as possible; they even called for a medical helicopter to participate.
State Trooper Brigham Jones based in Clarksville says this six-county area will see several prom night crashes similar to this.
Jones says, "We're just doing it to make the youth of Conway County aware of the consequences of drinking and driving and what can happen to them with underage drinking."
All those gathered hoped if one life can be saved from this; it was well worth it.
